Tlve V. oí M. Daily to-day glveg the following in regard t the progrese i' uk apon tliv ih'w gymnasium buiirtiinr : The exterior of the Waterman gymnasium is slowly approaching completion. The iron frame is practically finished, and over this has been placed a board roof. Subsequently this will be slated over. The iron and glass of the skyelight have arrived and will be placed in position inside of two or three weeks. The windows are also here, and within a month the immense building wil be entirely enclosed. The interior appearance has not j been changed much since the last write-up appeared in the Daily. The framework for the track is in place about fifteen feet from the main floor, and extending around the whole interior. The track is to be twelve feet in width. The basement will be used for a baseball "cage." It is about twelve or fourteen feet high. This will not admit of much batting practice. There are uniform rows of iron pillars, between which the men will practice running and sliding bases. A row of pillars in the south end have been left out, thus leaving room for pitching practice. The distance is about seventy-five feet, and two pitchers and two catchers can easily practice at the same time. The candidaes will probably begin training in a week or two.
