Ed tKR : For the benefit of itrone of the Studi Le il are Ae ociation and of the publrê n general the Board of Directora of said -- iciation desire to correct ;i ïiil - pression thal haa been held by ■ Tlie statement, for which perhaps the era of tlie press ai risible, has been made that the ohartered Students' Leeture Associution is com] entirely of members of the Law department. The trnth of the matter s that said Association c imprises do( only the hole of the Law department, but also the v. hole dieal and Deni partmenta, together with a large part of the Literary department. Thisfact thus ex posea the truth that the opposiüon, the No-natne Combine, is composed of only a part of the Literary department, or n other words, bf the so-called "GrifII ii Factlon." As bas been bef re atated by the presa, the Studente' Lecture Associalion haa been incorpórated ander the laws of Michigan, i thing which should have been done lm;r ago, for being thus incorpórated, the Association is made a responsible body capable ot carrying i n busmess as any other Corporation and thereby being enabled to furnish to the public a course of entertainmente of the higtiest rank. The acting Board of Directora have labored diligently to et tlie business for the ensuing year upon a linn basis, and steps have been taken toward procuring for next year's covirse such men as Benjamin F. Harrison, David B. Ilill and the famous Spanish orator, Amelio Castelar. In the line of musical least two of the best concert companies obtainable will be includi d. The Board have also decided upon a new feature, which will probably be of interes! to 1 1 1 ■ public, ünstead of limitin; the course of lectures to Ann Arbor, as has been done in the past, there will also be given next year a cQurse of Iectnres in Detroit, Grand Rapids and other large cities in Michigan, and there ia strong probability that the Association will be incorpórated ander the laws of Ohio and a course be also given in the large cities of that state. It is evident that ander such i plan it will be possible to secure the greatest talent and give our patrons the benefit of a rare intellectual treat. The Board of Directora wcting in the capacity of the Students' Lecture Association are endeavoring to make it an ition of which the outside world as well as the students and citizei Aun Arbor may be justly proud.
