When Mr. Keediok reaebed home the other evening, says the New York Mereury, lie was confrontad by a very angry wife. He bod seareely got inside the door and his hat on the hall rack before she blurted out: "You"ve got a new typewriter!" "Well yes." replied Keedick. "How did you fiud it out?" "Oh, Tin up to your goings on, I can teil you. You got jour new typewriter yesterday." "I cid. Who told you?" "Well, if you must know. it wasMrs. Gaskett. lier husband told her. You needn't think yon can keep things {rom me.'' "1 have no desire to, dear." "Dont dear me! Your typewriter is only about eighteen years oíd?" "Aa nearly as I can jidge of ages, I should say that was about right." "And has melting' brown eyes?" Mrs. Keedick went on, indignantly. "Possibly, but I baven't noticed them doing any melting." "Oh, no! Of course not. Withasoft voice and charming manners?" "You are nearly ri'rht." "Nearly rifrht! I know l'm quite rig'ht!" exclaimed the jeaious wotnan. "Now, I want 5'ou to teil me the name of the forward creature." "You want the name of my typewriter?" "Yes. I do." "What for?" "Xever mind what for. I want your typewriters name!" "It is John Henry Simpson. What are you going to do about It?"
