Bacteria aro simply microscopio plante of varying size and simpes, some of them baáng so small tliat fiftcen thousand laid end to end wou hl not make :i row more than an inch in lenfrtih. Some are flat, others round or oval, and still others are rod sliaped. The oddest form of all is that of the one that is the exact counterpart of a corkBcrew In all cases they are so minute i that one needs a povverful tnicroscope In order to study them and in no case can they be perceived wlth thcunaided eye alono - ' Filis all dates ahead - The almanac.
