Tlie ceremonies of instelling the officers for the ensuing year, of Welen Post No. 137, G. A. E., on Friday eevnlng, proved to be an occasion that will be remembered by tho.se who participated in it. The regular business was carried thiouidi in an Ineredible short space of time and then the doors were thrown open and the Woman'a Kelief Corps amd Sons of Veterans, fcogether with members of families wre aJraitted to the hall. A inuii ber of isiting comradea Were also present. 'Col. llem-y S. Dean. the installing officèrj was oonducted into the hall and ntroduced to those present. He then pyoceeded to iustall the followtog comvades. to ftll the positions named below : Commander- Wm. K. Childs. Senior V. C- Frederick Pistoi-ious. Junior V. ('.-Warren E. Walker. Adjt.-H. P, Danforth. Quartermubter - Coorad Xoll. Chaplain - J. Milton Perklas. Surgeon- Wm. P. Breakey. Officer oí the Day- Eüi 65. Manly. Oïficer of th Guard- Jolrn C. AUmendinger. Outside Guard- Wm. J. Clark. Sargeant Major- Chas. Dunn. After which the jiew officers were conduuted to their official ehairs, and, on suggeètion, Past-Commander G reene ivns called upon to aet as stalling office}!, and in a very unique but appropfclïite manner, proceeded wi'.li the iustall.-ition of Comrade Henry S. Dean, as the person elect to lili that posiiion. On takinji the ctiair ('ommander ChCds made a very neat and interestlng speech, whieh met the approbation of all present. Mrs. Henry S. Dean, president of 1lic "Womans llelief Corps, was then called lorward and made a íew welltimed remarks. Speech-maklng was hore put a stop to bjr the siiffgestioiii of Senior A'ioe Commaüder Pietorlous, that the la(iiiw had sotóething better in store for H-, and that the Post take a recess for the purpose of allowing them to present it to the Post. This was done, and in a, short time the committee appointêd by the Corps -v(re. busUy engaged in passing around the "good thiiifi's,'' and the social -Unie ■vhich thereupon ensued proved 1o be one of the most enjoyable times íhrse organlzatioöe have yet partieipited in.
