Miller, City Cïerk: Please cali a special meeting of the Council for Tnesilay eveuing, January 30, 1894, at 7:30 o'clock, for the purpose of extending the time for the collection of taxes. Also directing the Mayor and Clerk to draw a warrant on the the Universily Hospital Aid Bond Fund for principal and interest due February lst, 1K94. January 30, 1894, at 7:30 o'clock, to consider the petilion of the Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti Street Kailway Compauy asking permission to run tbeii motor over the tracks of the Ann Arbor Electric Street Railway Company I as f ir as the intersectiou of Main and Williams streets. W. W. Watts, President, The following communication was read : City Treasurer's Office, i Ann Arbor, January 30, 1894. To the Honorable Common Council: Gentlemen: There is yet remainingduein unpaid taxes the sum of $12.517.37, which itwould be impossible to collect in the time speeilied for that purpose. In accordance witli fornier custoni I therefore ask that the time for the collection of taxes be extended up to and including Feb. 28, 1894. Yery respectfully yours, Geo. II. Poxd, City Treasurer. By Aid. Manly: Resolved, That the request of Geo. II. Pond. City Treasurer, be granted, and that the time for collectlngof taxes be extended up to and including Feb. 28, 1894. Adopted as follows: Yeas- Aid. Ilerz, Martin, Wood, O'Mara, Fernuson, Taylor, Manly, Kitson. Pres. Watts- 9. Nays - None. At this point Aid. Scbairer arrived. By Aid. Taylor: Resolved, that tbe Mayor and City Clerk be and they are liereby ordered and directed to draw a warrant on the L'niversity Hospital Aid Bond fund for three thousand, six hundred dollars, ($3.600.00) for principal and interest due Feb. lst, 1894, payable to Ilarrison Soule, treasurer of the University of Michigan. Adopted as follows: Yeas- Aid. Schairer, Herz, Martin, Wood, O'Mara. Ferguson, Taylor, Manly, Kitson, Pres. Watts- 10, Nays- None. The following communication was read: Ann Arbor, Jan. 30. 1894. Tothe Hon., the Common Councü of the City of Ann Arbor : The Electric road being unable to bring the passengers of the Ann Arbor & Ypsilanti road into town. the offlcers of the said Ann Arbor & Ypsilanti Street RailwayCo.respectfullv request that permission be granted to run the motor down to the William street switch. I3y this permission the motor line will be able to resume business, thereby bringing into Ann Arbor 300 or400 people per day from Ypsilanti and the surrounding country, to the benefit of business and the aceommodation of the public Therefore we respectfully petition your honorable body for permission to come in with the motor until tne electric road shall be able to transfer our passengers. By Alderman Ferguson: Resolved, That and permission is hereby granted unto the Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti Street ïtailwav Companv to use, occupy and to noake u.se, witli their small steam motor, of the Aun Arbor Street Railway Company's track on Packard streetand to and up to the south line of William street, tlie said Anti Arbor Street Railway Company coiisenting, until the Ist dayof Maicli next, and not afterwaTd. Aid. Prettyman moved that the resolntion be laid on the table until ; our next session. Adopted . On niotion the Council ndjourned.
