Paréate lo not seem to reaiize when they nllow their cliildren bo remain out of school that it i.s not only a ilamage to the child but causes greal inconvenience to the teacher. We hear you make the common remarle, "Tbat is what the teacher's there for." Granted then, that be true, Uit -when the ch'ld goes back to school he comes draggmg along several pages behtad his classmate and is not only unable to derive any benelit from the lessons recited by the class, but the whole class te cut short a few minutes in order to give a little time to this one chiltl. This is not the most serious objection, but beforethe child has caught up with the class it is allowed to stay out another day and then another, and soon he is so lar behlnd his class that he gets discouraged and ás permitted to remain at home the balance oí the term ; and the next common remark, ''He might just as well stay at home, he dou't leam anyway." Who is to blame ? At the end of the term the teacher draws her full pay, but how about your child, can this
