He was a magnificent specimen of manhooö. When I looked at him I wondered if hls heart was as big as his feet ; ií his intellect was as broad as his shoulikr.-. His phygleal developnient said- prize ■ iglirter. The intelligent expression oí his face said- statesman. His erect carriage and fearless nianner Bald - warrior. You could imagine uxich a man with a nerve oí iron íacing the cannon. You could thlnk oí' him in liíe's battle as a victor. I wondered if he feared God and kept the ïen Commnndmentw. I pietured him as a hevo. The pride of his American countrymen, standing inside a ring pounding the tace of a fellow creature out of all human resemblanee. I pietured him as an honorable politieian. I pietured him brave as a lion ; perfect as a man. I asked him if there was anything in the world he feared. I stood speechless when he roared
