WE commented recently on Herr Giese's remarkable talent as a 'cello virtuoso, and at present need only repeat the declaration tliat no performer who has appeared in the United States for many years bas demonstfated an equal mastery over his instrument. For váried and effective bowing, and left hand execution of unimpeachable surety and extraordinary celérity, Herr Giese, in fact, has no superior in any I pari of thé world. - New York Times. At the seventeenth concert of the Boston Symphony Orchesfcra, last Satnrday evening, the soloist was Mr. Fritz Giese, 'cellist, who more than renewed his foriner triumphs. Such 'cello playing really exhausta superlatives. Faultness techníque, admirable beauty and variety of tone, pure intonatifin, inimitable graee of phrasing, wiirinth of pentiment, brilliant and musicianly good taste, were all there to a unique degree. - 'Botton Transcript.
