It seems that some thought ahould be given to the lnatter in all thO schools and that there should be a clear understandhig among teachers and pupila as to 111 linmediate exit In soane practiced, orderly way in case of alarm. Perhapa thia is the case but we have no personal koowledge of the fa;-. excepi ia 4th ward. There a fire alarm is oceasionally smunird, -work is dropped on the instant, and in a llttle over (me minute every pupil is marshaled out of tlie building iu orderly file and assigned places on the outer edge of the school groimds. Eveu wiili tkis drill it might be diffloult to avoid a panic in case of real dangier but w believe the chances for avoidiug one are far greater than â– vhere oo thought is given to the matter. o.
