[official.] Office of the Board of Public Works,) Ann Arbor, June 13, 1894. ƒ Regular Session. Called to order by Pres. Keeeh. Roll called. Full board present. Minutes of previous meeting read and approved. Alanson Moore appeared before the Board and stated that the gutters on Thayer street. between Ann and Catlierine streets, wanted some (trading so as fco take off the surf aoe water on said street. Referrecl to Mr. Clark and the Street Commissioner. Prof Carbart and H. M. Taber appeared before the board and asked to have the necessary grading on west end of Monroe street done to the grade established. The Street Commissioner was ordered , to do the necessary grading as heretofore ordered by the Comtnon Council on Monroe street. F. G. Schleieher appeared before the Board and asked the Board to have necessary grading done on the eastl side of Fifth street at bis lots so that i lie can build sidewalk which ñas Deen heretofore ordered built on said street. Keferred to Mr. Schuh and the Street Coiumissioner. Bids were opened and inspected for a plank sidewalk to be built on the north side of the Old Cemetery grounds, on L. Hurón street, the bids were found to be as follows: C. E. Heath, $3.1-5 per rod; T. L. Ilewitt, $3.10perrod; Charles Stevens $2.85 per rod. These bids were to f urnisk all material and labor. Mr. Schub moved that the respective bids be transmitted to the Council with the recommendation that an appropriation of $300 be made from the Bridge, Culvert & Crosswalk Pund to build an artificial stoue walk along the City property. Adopted as follows: Teas- Keech and Schuh. Nays- Clark. Mr. Schuh moved that we ask the Council to appoint a special committee to meet with this Board, next Wednesday evening. June 20th, to confer with tliis Board as to the best and cheapest way lor Lite City to procure grade maps. Adopted as follows: Yeas- Messrs. Keech, Schuil, and Clark. Mr. Keecli moved that we recom. mend and ask for an appropriation of $55 tobe mnde írom the Bridge, Culvert & Crosswalk Fnnd for the construction of an artificial stone Crosswalk on and silong the north side of Huron street, across División street. Adopted as follows: Yeas - Messrs. Keech, Schuh and Clark. Mr. Keech moved that the Street Commissioner take such steps as may be necessarj' to move steps that encroach on sidewalks at the Ilamilton Block, also placing safety gates at the stairway on Huron street and Fourth avenue, under the advice of the City Attorney. Adopted as follows: Yeas. -Messrs. Keech, Schuh and Clark. Mr. Schuh moved that we recommend and ask for an appropriation of $400 from the Council for the curbing and grading the center of South University Ave., as such curbing is necessary to save the trees on said avenue. Adopted as follows: Yeas - Messrs. Keech, Schuh 'and Clark. Mr. Clark moved that we recommend and ask the Comrnon Council to ap propriate $55 for the building of the artificial stone crosswalk on the west side of State street, across William street. Adopted as follows: Yeas- Messrs. Keech, Schuh and Clark. On motion the Board adjourned.
