A Good Man For Sheriff

We understand that Win. E. Stocking, of Lima, now temporarily residing in Ann Arbor, has consented, at the earnest request of many of his friends, to be a candidate lor noinination to the office of Sheriff on the republican ticket. Mr. Stocking is au active and earnest republican, and if lie should receive the nomination he will be second to none as. a vote getter. He is well and favorabl y known throughout the county, especially in the western part where he has resided for the past 25 years. Mr. Stocking bas not been an office holder. The only public office that he has held was census enurnerator of the township of Lima in 18S0. At the present time he is one the directors of the Washtenaw Mutual Fire Insurance Company, wbich position he has held for the past four years to the entire satisfaction of the company. Should Mr. Stocking recieve the nomination for this position in the republican convention he will niake a strong fight for the election.
