"Trilby" endsin the August Harper's, and the same number contains the second installment of Charles Dudley Warner's story entitled ' 'The Golden House. ' ' A more complete change of scène from the old world to the new could scarcely have been affected, for Mr. Warner's story is intensely American and modem, and its developments from month to month will be awaited with eagerness. The life of Kew York city is faithfully mirrored in Mr. Smedley's drawings that Ilústrate the text. "Ministers of grace," a novel by Eva Wilder McGlarson,authorof "AnEarthly Paragon," "Diana's Livery," etc, will be published in early numbers of Harper's Weekly. It Will be illustrated by Oarleton, and the entire novel will be contained in two issues of the Weekly. _ Country and garden-party toilettes, designed by the leading inodiste of Paris, will appear in Harper's Bazar from week to week during July and August. "Beyond the Dreams of Avarice," Wr alter Besant's new novel, will be the leading serial story- a story which promises to be of surpassing interest, and which in its title suggests [a subject that bas seldorn in the history of this country been more alluring than at the present period.
