Debs ! A splendid rhyme for " Rebs ! " It alwys has oceurred to me Iu writlng- well, say poetry- That Hiere were words- Quite up to time. But Debs, Wben rhymed with Rebs, Seems wondrous sensible, So reprehensible ís Debs. lt goes with ebbs, Whion shows a tendency For the ascendeney Of Government o'er Debs. Dear Debs doth show fot in the flow; Contrariwise, the tlde is low For liebs. "We're on the brink, Some people thiiik, Olanarehy; But as lor me I don'tbelleveit. I'II confess It sometimes seems so in the press. Thepopulists Would like to govern with thelr flsts ; But on the whole, frorn Texas up to Maine, The annrchist'8 dislinctly on the wane. From Florida to far off Idaho The teachiiiítsof the tribe have littlego; And we've enough of people with prepense For decent living and for solid sense To save the land, includlng Pennsylvania Some people write it " dispo "- -I'm too dense I must admít to see much difference.
