Clement has returned from his visit to Bngland in the interest of the Ann Arbor Organ Co., and reports that his trip was successful. He succeeded in making arrangements to ship Arm Arbor organs to London, and is cor.fident that the London sales will reach 300 or 400 organs a year. The Ann Arbor organ is recoKnized by Bnglish dealers as a high grade organ and is bound to take well with the English trade. Mr. Clemenc sold one large combination organ to the dealer wHo has the title of "Organ maker to the Queen." Besides the prospects of opening up this new territory, Mr. Clement reports general trade as improving very greatly artd looks for a fine business for the Ann Arbor Organ Co. tor the coming year. - Daily Times. Probably the most difficult things in the whole city that the board of lealtñ has liad to coaitend with are the slaughter houses in the 5th ward. IS'ot oiiüy are the odors i'rom these places ondaugeriug the sanitary con(liuon 01 the city but the effect upon tlie school chiidren in that ward is most deplorable. Childreo whose innocence and freehnese oï youth should be aliieided from al! Inüuences ithat would ttnd to harden the ieelings and bluut the sympiithies, are obliged to listen every day to the groanings 'of dumb animáis that are being slaughtered in these places. Il for no otheireason these slaugliter houses should be naade to change their location, and the board of health ehould Jiave the supportoi all fair mlnded citizens in their effort to effect this change.- Ann Ieinocrat. The Courier has labored year after year on the removal of those slaughter houses, but there aiever lias been a thne when it could be done. Once Dr. Breakey as liealth oificer, got all necessary arrangements made, botb with the owners oï the buildings and for anotdier location, but the council weakened at the last minute and it feil through.
