Reunión of the Í6th Michigan Infantry The fourteenth annual re-union of the 16th Michigan Veteran Voiunteer Inlantry Association, will be lield in the city of Ann Arbor, Thursday October lSth. Headquarters will be in the hall of Welch Poat, G. A. R, corner of Main and Washington sts. A business meeting wlll be held at Post Hall at 2 p. m., at which time the annual election of officers wlll take place. At 6:30 p. m., a banquet will be given in the Rink. It will be prepaed by the Ladies' Reliief Corps. The last reunión oí the 16th Mich. Inft. was held at Owoesso, last October, at whieh time Dr. Breakey who was surgeon of the regiment, invited the veterane to hold the next reunion in Ann Arbor, assuring them of a cordial weieunie from G. A. R. eomrades of "Welch Tost, and irom the citizens. Reunions of the -Ith and 20th Iiegts. VMlcIi. Inft'y. have been held here, a.nd the state encampment was h-eld here ;bhree years ago, and aJl wei-e well entertained with the characteristic hospitality of Ann Arbor. This.was the name and burial place of Col. JS'. E. Welch, of the lOth Mich. Inft'y, in whoee memory the Ct. A. R. Post here is named. And there is no doubt that all that our cltizens can do to make the meeting a success will be cheerfuily done. The Womans' Relief Corps will provide a, supper, and a few citizens will be asked to aid mernbers of the Post to meet the necessíiry incidental expense, and ithe expense of the W. R. C, thus aiding a desering and worthy local eharity, whi'.e they cheer with grateful remembranee the veterau who exposed h-is life ior the protection of other lives, and for the maintenance of "government by the people and of the peop'le, and for the people." And also teach the rising generation that patriotism is not iorgotten by a grateful people. Many oft hese veterans can illy afford the cost of coming to meet their comrades, and any persons disposed to offer lodgirag to such as will accept it, will please make it known to M;ij. Soule, Col. Dean or Dr. Breakey, who are a committee of the rost.
