The "White Squadron" will be the attractiou at the Grand Opera House Oct. 8th. The play is on the patriotic melodrama type, and furuUlies plenty of exciting scènes. Tlie present production is uot only handsoniely staged, but is produced by a cuuipany of capable artists. The leadiug role, of Victor Staunton is sustained by -Mr. W. A. VVhitecar, who is an actor of much nierit, and tlie role cl' the hero is vvell impersonated by Mr. Robert Neil. The heaviness of the 'lot is ligbtened in a most refreahing marmer through the coinedy of .Mr. '. F. Phillips, wno posea as a kodac fiend. üthers in the cast are: Frederick Julián, .1. V. Smilèy, Charles Macklin, J. Edwin Leonard, Percy Plnnkett, J. .i. .Morris, C. K. Guere, G I'. White. i!. G. Martin, W. Vestal, J. V. Harmoii, .U in ('handler, and Misses Laura Booth, who makes a (.■ipil al heroïne, and lïdith Julián, Laura Almosnino and Adeline Colton. Tlie scènic effects are exceptionally fine, especially the representation of the "Congress of Navies" in the port of Kio Janeiro.
