The Pittsburg Advocate recently contained the following concerning Dr. Cobern's address at the commencement of Alleghany College: " 'The alumni addresa was delivered by the Keverend C. M. Cobern whp is recoguized as one of the leading American authöritiea on Egyptology, being associated with the' greatest schol. u-s in that line, and haviug made some important discoveries liimself. He took as bis subject ' Some Skeptical Theories Which Have "Been Buried by the Excavator'e Öpade Since We Left College.' As a narrative of exploration in the land of the Pharoahs, it was highly entertaining and instructive. As he took up, oneby one, the various aesertions of skeptical critica which late discoveries have rendered untenable and showed the ever increasing mass of evidence in support of the Biblical account of the [sraelites, and their sojourn in Egypt the greatest enthusiasm was awakened.' " Dr. Cobern gives the above lecture before the Inland League, at Church of Christ, South University Ave., Monday evening, October 22.
