President Angell's annual report to the board of regenta, which was read at the October meeting of the board, has recently been sent out in printed form. The Courier acknowledges the receipt of a copy. The main features of the I document were printed in the Courier at the time of its presenta! ion to the board. Appended to the report is the statement of Treasurer Harrison Soule i'or the year onding June 30, 1894. There are many items in this report that wil] be of general interest. Tlie total receipts of the university lor the year were $445,805.01. At the time ot the statement there was a surplus in the treasury of $44,731.34. Of course this was materially depleled by tlie construction of the heating plant. j Froin the one-sixth niill tax there accrued to the university $235,416.65. The interest on the deposits of University money amounted to $3,530.88. The receipts for matriculation and incidental fees for the various departments aggregated $90,840.00, distributed as follows : Literary, $41,305.00; law; $26,015.00; medical, $13,280.00; dental, .$(,920.00; pharmaey, 2,335.00; homeopathie, $925.00. The diploma fees amounted to $7,050.00. The total of students' fees iucluding laboratory feee, etc. was $122,527.5S. The general pay roll of offlcers, pro Eesssoïs and employees amounted to $225,843.00. Fuel and lighting cost the University .$11,431.33. Books to the ■'tui $11.232.87 were purchased for the general library. Postare íor the üniversity amounted to $1,378.34. Publishing the University Record cosl $503.95 while the receipts for the saine were only $106.87. Insurance costs the institution $1,184.50. The Üniversity hospital more than paid its expenses. The total receipts of that part of the institution were $20,774.95, and of that surn, Supt. Clark paid over to the treasurer, over and above running expenses, $4,176.00. There was a deflciency, however, for running the hospital during the summer months. This amounted to il, 238. 91. The homeopathie hospital ailed to meet expenses, the aniount of 11,255.24 being paid out to meet expenses above the receipts. The total amount eceived during the year for gifts was $8,246.79.
