Fire destroyed the pump house of the T., A. A. & N. M. railroad Suuday morning at three o'clock. The building was situated jnst across the tracks from the passenger depot and the lattercame very near being consumed also. As it was, the heat from the pump house fire was so intense that it broke all the window glass of the depot and wrinkled the paint so that a new coat will be necessary. The fire evidently started from a gpark that had fouud lodgment somewhere in the roof n the early part of the evening when the engine was in use. The fire had gained slowly in headway through tlie night, being slowly hut surely íanned into a blaze, until the whole building was in llames. It being so early in the inorning, the fire was not seen until the building was in iiames, and although the fire department was quickly on hand, they could not save the house. Their attention was turned to the protection of the depot, which was luckily saved from very great damage. .gent Greenwood places the loss at about $500. Probably well insured. The boiler was so full of water that it is probably not irretrievably injured. The connecting pipes, however, were twisted out of shape by the intense heat. Mr. Greenwood says that the work of rebuilding will be begun at once.
