It is witli sincere regret thnt we hare to announce that Mr. E. J. Smith the gentleman who has made the ' mims of "the Ajgrua bo briftht For the past few m'oinths, is to srvcr his connectkui with that paper to-morrow. Mr. 8mit.li is a genial gentleman, witü a ticiifhant and hmnorous pen, and is capable of bringing briglitness and eheer out of tlungs ■ that are g-lootay and foirbidding. Personally thcre is not a. finer gentleman in Michigan ; editoiially lie is sparkting and brilliant ; politically - wëü, veally, he isn't near as bad as one wonld suppose, for aside from the fact that he has always used his genius on a democratie paper, we don't believie he really oaTes a rap about politics. It has been his political envlroTimeoit tihat has been responsable, not his candid judgment. See? But wherever he goes and whate-pOr his pen iluda o do' in thO future, he can be assured of possessing the heaorty good will and kindly wishes oí the quül drivers of this city, and we believe of the people as well.
