In the January number will appear a prolu-sely illnsrated paper on Charleston and the ■Carolinas, the lirst of series of Southern Papers. Northern África is attracting more attention than al any other time since it was the seat of emplres. The next volume of HARPER'S MAGAZINE will contai four illustrated articles on tbis región, and tnree ot them will depici present life there.
