Although the educational advantages offered in Ann Arbor are tnanyfor those who must spend the day in manual labor, there are few opportunities to improve them. The Young Men's Christian Association, in offering evening classes, is therefore supplying a real need. Only a few linea of work will be taken up this winter, hut if these are well patronized they will another year be supplemented by greatl' extended courses. The classes which will begin work next week aro as follows: Monday evening, pemnanship and book-keeping, tanght by Edward Seyler; Friday evening, conversational Germán, taught by .f. A. C. Hildner, of the University ; Saturday evening, short hand, taught by O. E. VVagner, of the Commercial and Stenográphic Institute. The association is also willing to give courses in mechanical drawing and in common arithmetic if the demand is suflicient. These classes will be free to members of the associatiou, but non-members will be charged the nominal sum oí .$1.50 lor e'ach course elected. Each class will meet once a week and continue for sixteen weeks. All who desire to enter sliould register as soon as possible with the general secretary, who may be found at the office any evening.
