The next section miakes provisión for the treasurer to collect iroim insurance companiies any Üamage or loss ttoat may occur. Accordimg tto that law, and there has been no chamge iin the lavv we are assured, the imsurance now upon the county buildings is mot -vorfch a rush If fche co'urt house Bhould burn to morrow not a cent could be collect ed from tiue inj&urance conipanies i they choee to stand out abo ut it tor not a roolicy is drawn in the name of tJie county treasurer, but tliey are all dirawn to the Board ol Supervisors of "Washtenaw eounty. A oiumber of years ago, we understand the eounty treasurer did this work as the law directs, but the supervisors concluded that the duty was one of their own, bo they took It from him and had it attended to by by the building coininittee. And so it has been done ever since, contrary to statnte. It might be well for the building comniittee to attend to this business at once, and havo the policies all made to read as the law directs. This might be a very eerions matter to Washtenaw connty, and might cause her ino end of trouble.
