The Chnstian Woman's Board oí Missioms lias been fortúnate in securi;ng lie services of Prof. G. P. Ooler as Ome of the instructors of the Bilde cliairs. In addition to the course taught by Prof. H. L. "Willett, who meets liis classes every S&turday at Newberry Hall, Prof. Coler will give a co'urse of lectures on tlie philosopJiy of religión. Prof. Coler comes highly.recommeaded, botk a-s a scholar and a Cliristian u,cntli-iH;in. At the age of seventeen lic began teaching ischool, and at the a.g-o of twenty-three entered the Ohio state university at Athens. He took hU A. B. degree in 1882. Ia 1883-4 liO was principal of Mttchel'e High Scliool, Toledo. In 1884 lre was a gradúate student at Jolms Hopkins University, aiter wliicli he traveled in England, Germany, France, and Sttitzerland, studying industrial schools. B-uriaig 1887-S Prof Coler preaclied churches in Maryland and Delaware and returned to Europe in 1887, wivere h remained two years. While in the University oí Leipsic ho was for some time pastor of the Americam clruircli. F rom 1891 to 1894 he was assistant proteesor oí pliUosophy, in the Ohio state j versity. Jan. lst '95, he resigned ; hifi positioa in the state normal school at riatteville, Wis., wierO lie was professor of redagogy and phüosopliy- Prof. Coler will organizo liis clase whlch will meet in Newberry Hall, at the beginning of the second semester. He will als preach at the Church of Ohrist in the absence oí Rev. C. A. Yooing', wlio is al pi-esi'ut pufsuing some special studies in social science at the Uiuvei-sity oí Chicago.
