The Daily Financial News, of New York City, of a recent date liabs a four column article on the situation of the Arm Arbor Road, the greater portion of the a.rticlo being an affidavdt made by one Allen B. Smart, of that city, setting farth many smart tJi&ngs that the Ashley management of the road is cliarged with doing. It seems that a General Reoi-ganization Committee of the T. A. A. & N. M. R. E', 'was appolnted somc time ago, to look uito the affaire of the corporatLon. It will be remembered that iin tlie plan of roorganization promulgatd by tiie stockholders' committee it was declared that the stock was absolutely worihless and contrlbuted noth.ing to tlie cash resources of the company. Tlie accountants' report, however, shows that such a statement is -without foundation, and if the road had been honestly conducted tlie stock would now be on a dividend basis and selling In the neighboihood of par. "Whethear the stockholders' co'mniittee succeed or not is a matter fhat the future alone can determine ; at any rate, thO stockholders owe tlie-ir coianiittee a debt of gratitude for wliat they haie already nnearthed, and their investigations can uot help but benefit the holders of securities in all American railroads, as it will tend to bring about better management and wake upsecurity holders from the apathetic condition in which they have been for so imany years." It is also claimed that the amount of bonds issued far exceeds the limit per imile, ;uid that some fiity bonds are entirely unaccounted for. Tliis is o:ne side of the T lie Ashley management, which is still practically in control of tlie road, no doubt has aittother skle. Weather for Mareh and April.
