Ou Sunday last, at his home inNorthlield towiiiilii), Solomón F. Sears, one of the first settlers of tho towu of Webster, was removed from anioni3t us by the hand of death, Mr. Sears was born in Franklin Co., Mass., June -2'2, 1816, and carne to Michigan with liis parenta in 182(5, wliere his father, Peter Sears, took up 180 acres of land from the royermnent in Webster tównship, which is still held bythefatai . He was twicemarried, first to Olive D. Fisher, of Tecumseh, who died in 1S74, and the second time to Phoebe L. (Robinson) Huil, of Niágara county '. Yj, who still survives. Mr. Sears was always a strong republican in politics, and feit proud oí the fact that he v'oted for both the Harrisons lor president. In religión he was a Congregationálist, in which chur'ch he held the position of trustee for many years, and was for a long time superintendent of the Sunday School. By his deuth the couuty loses a worthy citizen, and the pioneers one o their best meinbers.
