Frank B. Lyon, of Calumet Mich., colonel of the 5th Iufantry, M. ÏST. G., who was a member of the last legislature, was with the party this morning. In the course of a conversation with the Courier in the Cook House lobby, he said he thought the party had a favorable idea of the University and was not so ujifriendly to it as the public supposed. It was not their intention, he thought, to cut off the desired appropriation entirely, but in the interests of the state treasury they thought all expenses should be curtailed as much as possible. It was his opinión that the University would get a reasonable appropriation.
