The Courier wishes to remark just here that no more worthy orgauization ever received such a Godsend than this one, and that it believes that every penny of it will be used wisely. There is a great diflerence in charity work, some of it doing more harm than good, but this society keeps in touch with the actual needs ot' needy people. It investígales and rinds out which are the deserving and which the undeserving. and gives as necessity demands. It will be a glorious addition to their fan ds, and will niake the noble ladies who camón the work very happy indeed. Since the above was in type we have been informed thatobjections have been raised to giving the money to the Ladies Charitable Union, and that the check will be held for a time until some way is agreed upon to dispose of it.
