At the State Savings Bank Cashier Phillips has liad placed in a frame just over the customer's desk, an adinirably arranged assortment of coins and paper money tliat are not only valuable, but are a history in themselves of the circulating medium of our county and our country also, together with many rare coins from other nations. All the denominations of war shinplasters are to be found in the collection, including the 3, 5, 10, 15, 25 and 50 cent pieces. Also a specimen of the Washtenaw county Volanteer Relief Fund Currency. A large nnmber of specimens of the colonial currency, wild cat bilis, Confedérate bilis, etc. A rare and curious colonial specimen is the one issued by the Corporation of New York, which reads: "New York, Water Works, No. 1907. This note shall enütle the bearer to the suin of eight shillings current money of the colony of New York, payable on demand, by the Mayor, Aldermen and Commonalty of the City of New York, at the office of the Chamberlain of the said city, pursuant to a vote of said Mayor, Aldermen and Commonalty of thiü date. Dated the sixth day of January, in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and SeventySix. By order of the Corporation. J. WATTS, Junior. VIII G. BREWERTON. Tliere are others, each one of which wt uld make a handsome article could its history be given, and which hereafter we shall devote some space to. Many of the rare foreign coins were collected by W. J. Booth on his tour up the Nile, and through the oíd countries. Some of the local specimens were collected Mr. John Baumgardner, the inarble dealer, and are of great valué. Some of the colonial pieces that went begging in the days of their prime, are now worth many times tlieir face valué. -- -
