In Labrador there are 1,329 Esquimau Christians. There are 14,983 pastors and 1,362,760 members of all the colored Methodist churches. The estimated value of educational Institutions in the United States owned by the Lutheran church is $4,889,550. It is said that the only lineal descendmt of John Knox, the Scotch reformer, s a member of the congregation of the Holy Cross at Notre Dame. The Congregationalists of Chicago and its suburbs claim that their churches have increased from seveneen to seventy during the laat twelve years. The bishops of London and Rochester flecided recently that to require any qualification in a member of an ecclesastical vestry save payment of taxs would impertí the national character of he English church. The English "Church Quarterly Review" contained recently a very severe attack on Archdeacon Parrar's "Life of Christ in Art." The reviewer summed ïp thus: "In a word Dr. Farrar's knowledge of art is of the most shallow nd superficial kind, and the book which e has produced is thoroughly untrustworthy."
