Tliis will be the semi-centennial, or fiftieth anniversary of the graduation of the first class that ever went out from the Michigan University. This class consisted of the following : Clias. Alex. Clark, Freeport 111: Edwin Apollo Lawrence, San Francisco, Cal.; Jndson Dwight Collins, Missionary to China ; Thos. Banier Cumming, Omaha, Neb. ; Edmund Fish, Hillsbororgh, I11..J Merchant Huxtord Goodrich, Ann Arbor; Fletcher Osceola Marsh, New Orleans, La. ; John D. McKay, St. Louis, Mo.; George Edgar Parmelee, San Francisco, Cal. ; George Washington Pray, Wbodard, Mich; Paul AVideman Huntington, Farmington, Mich.; fWm. Brigham Wesson, Detroit Mich. Only one of these graduates is now alive, Edraund Fish, of Hillsborongh, 111. It has been suggested that at the conimencement exercises this year Mr. Fish should come here as the guest oí the University, and be accorded the distinguished honor which belongs to him because of the fact that he alone can represent the first class theU. of M. ever graduated, and the Courier is incli'ned to think the suggestion a very appropriate one.
