"I teil yoü," saiil a Northsider this tnorning, "when we get the boulevard extended, we will have a fine avenue. Good enough for any city in the land." "'Where do you propose toextend it?" was askel. 'Til teil you." "Commenceing on Broadway, where Cedar Bend Avenue now ends, it will run nortliwest to Traver street southwest to Plum street, and from thenoe directly west to Pontiac street. For tl i is distanee the right of way has been secured, we understand, and the extensión is a sure thing. "Then a further extensión is well ander way, running to the Whitmore Lake road, terrninating near the bridge that crosses the Huron." This scheme if carried rif, wiïi ui.-ike one of the finest drives in the country. Then this grand avenue might be ex;ended along the river bank on the south side of the river just at the foot of the bluffs, as far up streara as the water works. Aun Arbor has it in her grasp to niake a delightful drive of some three miles or more that no place in Michigan could excel. But she must take better care ofit than she is now doing witli Cedar Bend avenue. At least $1,000 per year, for ten years, ought to be appropriated to build up and beautify this inagnificent pleasure drive, and as Ann Arbor is withont a park to its name - much to its detriment - the common council ought to take hold of this drive and make it not only a famous one, but a pleasure to every persou in the city who can either walk, ride or drive.
