For a nutnber of years the inembers of the Woman's Relief Corps of this place have been quietly raising money to be applied on the purcliase of a soldiers' monument. They have succeeded in raising about $200. At the close of the eloquent and patriotic address by Rev. Chas. O. Reilly on Decoratiou Day, the speaker made an appeal to those gathereil there to make the attempt to enlarge the suin, and as a starter generously subscribed the sum oi $25, saying that he would doublé the amount if they thought it was not large enough. Subscription papers were circnlated through the crowd and witliin a few momeuts $230 had been pledged. The amount to be expended lias been estimated from $1,200 $1,500, thus leaving in the neighb.orhood of $1,000 yet to be raised.
