Ihere was a bandsome turnout of iioneers at the annual meeting held at Oexter Wednesday, and tbe people of that yillage showed their liospitality in a most generous marnier in caring 101 tlièm. To the ladies of Dexter is especially dud warm ineads of praise for their untiring efforts in making Uil meeting one of the most enjoyable and memorable the society, bas ever held. The president, Isaac Terry, of "Webster, presided in a ver'y digniiied and gracefnl marnier, and when it carne to the singing of tbe songs of lang syne manyoftheold pioneers present ha their spirits kindled anew, and founc themselves joining in with tlie vigor o o)d times. Hon. II. W. Xewkirk delivëred an address of welcomethat made every one feel at home, and assured every one present that they were indeed welcome. AVm. H. Lay, of Ypsilanti, the aicrologist, reported 19S deaths of pioneers during the year, as coinpared with 205 during tlie year previous. The average age of those dying was 72 years, the combined age 13,391 years. The oldest was 102 years, Mis. Agnes Dziriscki, a Polish woman, of Augusta. One person Reuben Kimmell, of Superior, had resided in the county 70 years. Eleven were over 90 years of age, 42 over 80, 64 over 70, 30 over 60, and 13 over 50. Cyrus M. Starkés, of Webster, read a yery interesting paper on "The Pioneers of Webster." It was carefully prepared and greatly interested all who heard it. The dinner was sometlüng line, and spoke elorjuently of the ladies of Dexter, who seemed to understand how to touch the feelings of the crowd better than any of the speakers. Upon invitation of the people of that place Clielsea was selected as the next place of meeting. The election resulted in the choice of the following: President - Kev. Thos. Holmes. Secretary - J. Q.
