Through tlie courtesy of L. C. AVeinman, Court Deputy of Court Ann Ar,bor, K"o. 1554, we have received the following interesting facts concerniug the Independent Order of Foresters, one of the most prosperous fraternal insurance orders in existence : During the month of May the number of applications for merabership received by the Medical Board was 4,022, of whom 3,611 were accepted, showing an advanee of over 500 on the highest number of applications ever received in any one mottth. The Surplus Fund of the Order on the lst of June showed the high total of $1,317,000. On the 30th of May the corner stone of the Foresters' Temple was laid by His Exoellency the Earl of Aberdeen, Governor-General of Canada, in the aresence of an immense concourse of foresters and friends. The Temple will be eight stoiïes high and will be the fluest Fraternal Headquarters on the continent. The Forestric year closes on the 30th of .Tune, and in every particular it will )e the most prosperous year in the his;ory of the Order. The increase in the Surplus has been $360,000.00, and in the Membership about 18,000. Fór this month of June it is expected bat at least 5,000 applications will be eceived. During the year New Courts have iveraged 35 per month. The Supreme Court wilf meet at St. Martins' Town Hall, Trafalgar Square, ..oiidon, England, on the lst day of August. Tlie High Court of Ontario will meet at London, Ontario, on the Sth of )ctober.
