Will Virtue Be Rewarded?
The establishment of the color line in the West Pcint summer encampment reeently gave rise to a good story on the commandant of cadets, Colonel Samuel Mills. The regulations prescribe that everyone crossing the color line or passing the colors should salute by lifting his cap with the right hand and placing it upon his left shoulder. Colonel Mills neglected this important ceremony not long ago and the sentry on duty promptly stopped him and compelled him to obey the regulation. The commandant next day sent foi this cadet, a third class man, who, by the way, comes from Indiana, and talked to him long and earnestly. The young man refused to divulge the substance of the interview, but the general opiniĆ³n is that the cadet will be given corporal's chevrons in the f all, when changes are made in the offlcers of the battalion.
