Our readers will remembcr that a yeai or so ago the Courier wrote uu the sad case oí John Springman, of l.odi, whose pension had been cut oii lj' the governmen t because of a fl;nv in the record which could not be corrected because the time therelor l:ou elapsed. Through the efforts of Congressman Gorman and Senator McMillan a bilí was passed by congiess for his relief. This was at the lasl session of cóVgress and the sovemment ]ust got a round to his case l;is-t week and restored him to the list. Tliifr will secure to him the accured pension, and will come just in time to save his little farm from being so'd cu mortgage. It can be imagined 1hat he is a very happy man. His case has been looked after by W. K. Childs, who has been very active in securing justice for this old soldier.
