One hundred and fiftyof the Woman's college students spcnt a pleasant hour Priday nigiit iu gettiug acqnainted at a recept i on given iu Goucher hall to the new students by the Youug Woman's Christian association. Nearly every one present had her name engraved ou a visiting card or writteu on a pieoe of paper, pinned to her dreas, and in this way the foriaulities of an introdnction were dispcused with aud everybody knew everybody else's name in short order. There was u reception comiuittee, and the girls who comprised it fonnd their most active duty to be that of seeing that the old stndents present made a point uf talking with the new ones and did not get off into corners with their "clmma" of last year. Members of the college facnlty were the sole representatives of the sterner sex present. In their. dark, sober snits tliey looked out of placo in the midst of so many dresses of bright colora. But they kept the conversatiou ball rolling niei'rily, and each of theru was the center of a group of girls. Among them were President Goucher, Deau Van Meter, Professor Thaddeus
