Thora has recently beeu a UourtshIng Ixiyal Temperance Legión organized in tlüs city, which has regular meetings every Saturday, at two o'clock, in the hall formerly occupied by the Good Templare, over Calkins' drugstore on State si'. ThiS organizaticni la undor the ausplcea of the Womans' Christian Temporáneo Union and is enttrely supposed by them, so that every boy and girl in 'the city is cordlally invited to attend and enjoy the pleasures and benefits of the meetings without any expense to tiiemselves or their pareuts. After a uuitab'-e amouni oi Instraetton in regard 'to !!;' evils oj a'cohol, tobrcco and impure language, thoss who desii-e (sign this pledge : "I hereby solemnly promise, God being my helper, to aTstaiu from the use of all intoxicatiug liquors, including -vine, beer and eider, as a beverage, from the use. of tobáceo in every form and fi-oni all profanlty." Those taking this pledge are active members ; all others are associate members. The TV. C. T. U. feel to eongratula-te themselves and the children upon having secured Miss Anna Richards, of the L'niversity Y's for the leader. AU visitors wiU be cordially welcomed to anj ï the meetings of the Legión.
