The members of the Ann Arbor L'ght Infantry, legally kmnvn as Company A, Michigan National Guard, have been extensiva preparations ior their winter circus. The next meeting of the Woman's Chrietian Temperance Union will be Jan. 23, at three o'clock, in the P. O. block. Mra. Reg. Spokes and sons, of Arn Arbor, have been spending a few days with her mother Mrs. C. Hauser and sister Mrs. P. Hennt.- Saline Observer. G. W. It will not be nocessary to te'egraph c'ear to Chicago to do it. Joseph H. Homes, a former Unverversity student from Grand Ilapids, has got himself into serious tiouble by reason oX his ungovernable temper. A motor man named Albert E. Johnson, carne into the room where Holmes was, and put his cold hands on iïoims' neck. This made him mad and the two came to blows. Holmes then rnehed off to his room, secured a revolver and fired fiveishots into Johnson, of which three took effect, killing him almost instantly. Holmes then went torthe iio'ice station, told his story and delivered himself up befare the oificers knew anything of th occurrence. ITie father of young Holmes lives in Grand Ledge, und is nearly crazed over his son's actions. Tlie affair is a. terrible warning to people who have tempers hard to govern.
