Kedzie, Late State Analyst _ of S Michigan, after an examination of the baking ti powders, says : L My tests show the Royal Baking Powder i of very superior leavening power and a f most commendable preparation. It is a I cream of tartar powder of the highest purity, ti' containing no alum, lime, ammonia, or any fj unwholesome material. f R. C. KEDZIE, I, Professor Chemistry, Michigan Agricultural College, jj Late State Analyst. ti ï. Of the dangerous character of alum baking ti powders Dr. Kedzie says : "The cream of tartar baking powders have ti nearly twice the leavening power of the average alum powder. But the relation of the alum ti' powders to digestión is much more important. j; Inonecase we are cheated; in the other we are injured. Authorities agree that alum retards f? digestión, and that soluble aluminous compounds are injurious to the human system." 2 g Baking powders that are sold, either wholesale or retail, at a lower príce I than Royal are almost invariably g made from alum, and therefore are I inferior and dangerous to health. ín 106 WALL ST., NEW-YORK.
