When Ir. E. X. Pierce of Buffalo, N. Y., published 'the first edition of bis great work, The People's Commoa Seose Medical Advtser, he announced that after 680,000 copies had beeu sold a-t the regular price, $1.50 per copy, the proüt on which would repay him for the great amount of labor and money expended in producing it, he would distribute the next half million free.
