Yesterday'B Tiuies had the following account oí Monday night's meeting : The regular mectiug of the coninion couneil last night was for business and not for pyroteehnie display and so considerable business was nttended to The aldermen succeeded in turning down ex-City Attorney Kline and the Forest Hill Cemêtery and sliowed great glee at being able to do so. Aid Soule come in late and cornpleted the full attendance. Petitions asking that the willow trees on Beakes st. be removed, that a crosswalk be built across Spring st., repairs be made on Miller ave. sidewalks and for a crosswalk across Packard st. at Mary st. were read and referred. The B. P. W. asked the couneil to make arrangernents with the Ann Arbor Savings Bank to pay all labor bilis weekly at par. This seenied a popular and reasonable request, but was simply received and placed on file. Mrs. Olivia B. Hall was granted permission to connect with the Washington st. sewer. The fire cominissioners recoinniended that $300 be appropriated to purchase a team of horses for the fire department. Referred to the committee on fire department. Warrants were ordered drawn on recommendation of the finance committee to the total amount of $4,003.26, taken froni the various funds as folio ws: Contingent, $1,45S.52; sewer and general, $2.25; ' f.treet, $1,596.17; bridge, culvert and crosswalk, $62.81; pólice, $266.75; firemen's, $94.96; ceinetery, $38. The committee on finance presented the following estimates for next fiscal year and the same was unanimously adopted: Street, $10,000; fire department, $7.000; pólice, $2,000; poor, $2.500; water, $6,000; delinquent tax, $455.45; contingent, $4,000; University aid, $2,400; bridge, culvert and crosswalk, $3,000; main sewer bonds interest, $3,200. Arthur Sweet's petition asking for payment of damages for alleged injuries received in the Hill st. sewer cave-in was referred back to the council by the finance committee without recommendation, and by the council to the city attorney. Charles H. Kline's bill for May salary as city ittorney was laid on the table. Sidewalks were ordererl constructed on Second st., and Üakland ave. A crosswalk is to be built aeross Oakand ave. on the northwest side of Ar3or st. Bonds of Rettich & Hochrein, plumbers, and Ann Arbor Savings Bank were presented and accepted. Dr. Doll was given use of Felch Park for a pony ring, the trees of the park were ordered trimmed. The recommendation that water be put in the park was referred to the B. 1'. W. The raonthly reporta of the city clerk, chief of the iire department, city marshal and superintendent of the poor were read and ordered placed on file. E. S. Manly presented his resignation as one of the cominissioners of the city cemetery. It was accepted. Expert Examiner Johu B. Miner reported everything correct in the books of the city clerk and treasurer and eomplimented the oflicials highly on the same. City Engineer Key presented an estímate of $142.50 for drain on E. University ave. and Prospect st. The work was ordered done according to the estímate. A plank sidewalk was ordered constructed along the north side of Geddes ave. on the south side of the cemetery from the cemetery gate to the west line of W. A. Niehols. The matter of macadamizing Detroit st. was taken from the table and referred to the city attorney. Council then peacefully adjourned.
