A north bound special freight on the Ann Arbor road bad quite a wreck within the city limits at about 2 o'clock a. m. Monday. The cause of the wreck is not fully known, althougü it is thought tliat tbe brakeman failed to set the brake when tbe engine detached itself from tbe rest of the train and went to take on water. Three box cars and one flat car were thrown from tbe track. The flat car bore the new pump for the waterworks and was smashed all to pieces. One box car lies in the little ereek near the track and another across the street. A negro tramp was on one of the cars but escaped unhurt. The contents of the cars were not much injured, though a few nice watermelons were broken. The wrecking train was soon on the scène and it did not take long to clear the
