Since Mr. Chase gradúa ted he has been present at every eommencement but one, proring ïimself a loving and loyal son of his alma mater. On one occasiou, Mr. Ohase then living in Cleveland, tlie steamer on whieh he took passage was wreeked by a collision with another steamer; but af ter five hours' cold ath in the waters of Lake Erie he was fished out, taken back to Cleveand, put on dry clothing, seized his grip, boarded the first train, reached his mother's fold a little late, and received a warm greeting. Would that this University had more such sons.
