Miss Martha Drake has been in Detroit with friends for a few days. Mrs. Bond and family, of Jefferson st. are at Whitniore Lake for a time. Miss Corrina Koek lias been the gnest sf Lansiag friends during the week. Prof. E. M. Pierce, of Sitaron, is tak:ng a course at the Slimmer Normal. Mrs. Dr. J. W. Morton returned from lier father's home at Concord, Monday. Chas. AV. Wagner returned home irom Wequetousing Saturday for a short stay. Mrs. George B. Mills, of Owosso, is the guest of Ann Arbor relatives for a time. Miss Lou Giles went to Detroit a few day's since to visit hér brother and iamily. Mrs. Nillie Litchfield, of Delhi, has ïteen engaged to teach in the Dexter schools. We are pleased to state that Mrs. W. K. Childs is surely though slowly recovering. Miss Adah Dennison, wlio had been visiting lier parents, at Cone, has returned home. Miss Anna Sliannon, of W. Summit st., is visiting her mirle John Shaunon, of J.oudon, Ont. Mrs. S. M. Spence and daughter Jlossie, liave gone to Philadelphia for a stay of several weeks. Mrs. Allie Austin is to have charge of the primary departinent in the Salem schools the coming year. Eugene Mutschel leaves Monday morning for a couple of weeks in Owosso and Grand Ledge. Miss Susette Canniff, who has been visiting at the Arlington, retumetl to lier hoine in Toledo, Monday. "Iv'e come for a 21 year's visit," said the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell D. Moore lastSaturday morning. Miss Abbie Wilson, of this city, has been the guest of Mrs. T. E. Knox, of Dundee, duriug the week past. Last Thursday night Moses Seabolt, D. Hiscock, Ed. V. Seyler and George F. Stimson returned from up the lakes. D. F. Schairer and son Cari have returned from their western trip, but Mrs. Schairer remains in Chicago for a time. Mrs. P. L. Bodmer and son Faye, trill be absent until Sept. lst., visiting friends in Kalamazoo and St. Joseph counties. Mis Peckha n, who is attending the Sumnier Normal, has secnred a position in the schools at Manistique for the eoming school year. Mrs. Dean M. Tyler returned Friday eveniug from Leslie, and reports the Dr. as beinu; mucli beneflted since iug bere. He will returu later. Miss Blanche Bcnbow, formerly a teacher at South Lyon, lias accepted a position as teacher in the Iridian Territory, and lelt for tliere on Friday last. Dr. J. W. Foley, of Leadville, Colo., has gone to New York city, Boston, etc, Btudying in the large hospitals there, after a short visit with liis mother liere. Prof. A. D. Chisholm, Sup'tof schpols at Newberry, was prevented from being an instructor in the Slimmer Normal by reason of illness, which kept him at home.
