Miss Rose Seery_is_spendiug i lew iveeks in Detroit. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer F.. Beal are visit ing relatives in Northville. Mrs. Roy McClure has gone to Lo gansport, Ind., to visit friends. Mrs. W. S. Perry and familyhavt been at Zukey Lake for the past week Emanuel Stadle of E. F. Mills & Co.'s is taking a vacation of a couple oi weeks. Misses Bertha and Carrie Christman have returned from a visit with.friends in Ohio. L. E. Canfield is taking a week or ten days off, visiting at his home in Greenville, etc. Herbert A. Williams, teller of the F. & M. Bank, is enjoyiug a two week's vacation. Wood Tuttle of this city, has been spending a few days with friends at Napoleon. Miss Luella Moore lias been visiting Miss Cecil Gauntlett, of Milan, during the week. Miss Minnie Drcyer lias been entertainiug her friend Miss Kate Farnham, of Pinckney. Miss Nina M. Davison is spending a two week's vacation with relatives in Toledo, Ohio. Eugene Mutschel is able to attend to business again, mach to the joy of his many friends. R. S. Greenwood has been in the city for a day or so looking after the interests of the Wabash R. R. Mrs. J. X. Lewis and children are with her father, Heury A. Hammond and family near Saline. Mrs. Martin, formeiiy Harwood, oí Jackson, bas been visiting Ann Arbor friends during the week. Mrs. Sullivan M. Cutcheon, of Detroit, has been the guest of Ann Arbor friends during the week. Prof. James Kelley, of the Sault Ste. Marie schools, has been visiting Ann Arbor friends for a day or two. Mrs. Judge Harriinan has been visiting her daughter, Mrs. Hutchinson, in Grand Rapids, during the week. Mrs. Ida Nowlin and daughters, of Plymouth, have been visiting Mr. and Mrs. John Tice, duriug the week. Mrs. S. G. Benham has been entertaining her daughter Mrs. Mame Parshall, of Wayne, during the week. Mrs. George Clarken and daughter May, have been guests of friends at Cleveland, Ohio, during the week. Frank Beardsley has been the guest of his friends Willis and Ralph Culver, of Mooreville, during the past week. Miss Mattie Drake is enjoying a couple of week's vacation, most of which will be spent at Whitraore Lake. Misses Erama E. Bower goes to Columbus, Ohio, to-day to attend the convention of the Ohio State hive L. O. T.M. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Camp entertained Mr. and Mrs. Philip Krausman and Mr. and Mrs. Kuhn, of Detroit, over Sunday. Miss Lury Bushnell, who bas been with her sister, Mrs. Geo. H. Pond, for the past few weeks, left Saturday for Noble, Branch county, to visit the old home. Harry Banfield, who had been making an extensive trip throughout the state on his wheel, returned home lastThursday night. He found tliat Michigan had a few rough roads yet. Mis. Wm. Schneider, of Ironwood Mich, is visiting Mr. Schneider's parents] at Fosters's Station. Mr. S will come later on to spend a few days and take his wife back with him. James H. Wade left Saturday evening for Les Cheneaux Islands for a two week's vtfeation. He is accompained by his daughter Mrs. Slocum, and his son's wife, Mrs Wade, of Jonesville. Leroy C. Noble and daughter May are at Mt. Clemens. Michael Grossinan is on a business trip to Bellefontaine Ohio. Miss Lottie Ottley is iu Berrien Springs for a vacation visit. Miss Florence Potter, of E. Hurón st., lias gone to Tecumseh visiting. T. W. Hughes has gone to Toronto, Can., to visit bis former home. Miss Dinx Dunster will teach in Howell during the coming year. George R. Cooper has gone to the nortliern part of the state on a vacation. C. A. Peters has gone to Lancaster, Pa., where he teaches the coming year. Mrs. Dr. J. G. Lynds has gone to the western part of the state visiting rriends. A. T. Bruegel is making an extended ;rip through Penusylvania, Ohio and [ndiana. Kev. and Mrs. W. AV. Wetmore, of W. Huron st., are entertaining Miss Sppie Fisher, of Nebraska. Prof. and Mrs. Will F. Clutton have gone to Grand Mand, Neb., where he will teach during the year. Dr. E. D. Brooks who recently moved to 48 S. División st., has with his wife, gone to Three Rivers visiting. Mrs. Anna M. Burleson and son John ïave taken up their residence in the D. Mclntyre homestead on W. Huron st. Louis B. Roland, of Denver, Colo., who has been in Germany for sorne months, is in the city for a few days, on his way home to Denver. Mr. and Mrs. George L. Vandawarker have returned home from a three weeks stay at Loon Lake, near Pontiac. They report having a good time, and certainly look as if that was true. Louis J. Liesemer of the Daily Times, is taking a week or so vacation. He will prepare his Germán Day oration, after the delivery of which he will go ;o Chicago looking after his property interests there. The many friends of Mrs. Chas. HCarter, nee Scott, will be pleased to earn the tact that she will probably reside with her biother Ranney C. Scott, in the old homestead, on Wash-enaw ave., hereafter. Miss Nora Babbitt, daughter of Judge and Mrs. J. W. Babbitt, has secured a )osition in an Episcopal school at Kearney, Neb., and will leave therefor n a day or so, accompanied by her sister, Miss Nan Babbitt. Miss Nettie Daniels, lit. '86, a níece of Mrs. R. A. Beal of this city, who has been a teacher at the State Normal at Ypsilanti for the past year, bas accepted her old position as teacher in he schools at San José, Cal. Chas. R. Van Gieson, of Weatherord, Texas, has been visiting his old ïome here for a time, reports a great protection sentiment setting in that tate. He thinks however that the Populists will be successful there this year.
