A short time ago the farmers of Gratiot county appointed a non-partisan comniittee to go to Detroit and fiud out what effect the Wilson Bill had liad upon imports of Canadian producís at that port. Eggs 125,U75 üoz. 218,278 doz. Hay 84 tons 2,3! tons Beef 45,750 lbs. 348,356 lbs. Mutton 1 000 lbs. 65,325 lbs. Straw ' 24 tons 371 tons Barley 12,636 bu. 53,441 bu. Potatoes 33,840 bu. 99,665 bu. Wool 5,899 lbs. 280,525 lbs. They also found that the same proportion held good at every one of the twenty ports of entry on the Canadian frontier. The committee consisted of James Allen, president of the Gratiot county Agricultural Society, Darius Eeed, exsupervisor, and Ed. Mecham, overseer of highways, all prominent farmers of Gratiot county, and of unimpeachable integrity. These gentlemen have gone home to Mt. Pleasant to teil their neighbors what they found out and you just wait until you hear from Gratiot county, the hot-bed of free silver in Michigan !
