An Old Resident Leaves Us

Mrs. Ann Carpenter, widow of the late vHoraoe Carpenter, leit Ann Arlior Saturday to reside Tvith lier soniin-law, Dr. W. H. Stevens, in Detroit. On Frïday afternoon of last week the ladies of the Congrega tional chureh gave Mrs. Carpenter a íareweU reception, in the chnrch parlors, she be&ng one of the first members of that society, and a faithful worker tlur in tipce its Inceptlon. Th' y too' tíiat method to show their appreciation of her services in the past -md regret at her departure. Mrs. Carpenter has belonged io the Courier family of readers for all the years of its existence, and feels that its weekly visita are necessary ,o a right enjoyment of lite. Many of her riW friemls and neighbors here regret lier departure from among us.
